Flacone Cipolla Melange Orange

Blown Murano glass bottle , entirely worked to hand, by the fusion of murrine on gold leaf. Cap worked to lamp on gold leaf. Murrine can be used to achieve composite mosaics that are then picked up with a gather on the blowpipe from the marveer and then blown. The mosaic will adhere to the gather and the finished vessel will show a "murrine mosaic". When blowing glassware with murrine decoration, the glassmaker must take into account the inevitable deformation process the murrine are subject to because of the stretching to the shape to be achieved or the position of the murrine on the object.
